About Us

North Street is an independently-owned creative services, design, and brand strategy studio. We partner with organizations to create meaningful and impactful brand experiences by crafting transformational brand identities, websites, content, and campaigns.

We Want

We’re in the process of transitioning away from founder-led sales. We’re looking for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit to open up new channels of business, augmenting the revenue brought in by our current clients and by our owner/founder. The Client Development Manager  (Agency Sales) will be responsible for establishing and nurturing new relationships, bringing in clients who are a great fit for our agency. The person who fills this role will embody our core values and genuinely care about the success of our clients, working closely with our Account Manager to ensure a seamless transition from initial contact to ongoing partnership. We’re aiming for quality over quantity, connections over cold calls, and long-term relationships over quick wins. Though, we’re big fans of quick wins too.

You Are

Relationship-focused.

  • You’re sales-minded, but your approach is genuine and human.
  • You prioritize being compassionate, ethical, and client-centered.
  • Communication skills, both written and verbal, are your forte. You can present ideas clearly and persuasively to a wide variety of audiences.
  • You’re great at– and enjoy– cultivating professional relationships, both virtually and in-person.

An agency veteran.

  • You understand digital marketing, web design, branding, and related services.
  • You enjoy adapting to challenges and thinking on your feet.
  • You can effectively communicate the value of our creative services to clients (you understand what “good value” is in the client’s world).
  • You have a high competitive drive, and a conscience that keeps you grounded in the client’s best interests.

Systems-savvy.

  • You have strong organizational and follow-up skills, ensuring no client interaction or opportunity is overlooked.
  • You understand the sales cycle, how it relates to creative services, and what KPIs work best for measuring success.
  • When making decisions, you take into account both short-term and long-term goals.
  • You have a proactive and self-motivated approach to identifying opportunities.

A team player.

  • You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy partnering with internal teams to get things done.
  • Your communication skills are only surpassed by your ability to actively listen.
  • You’re committed to continuous learning and professional development in sales and marketing.
  • Your conflict style is open and honest–you can give and take criticism well.

Technically proficient.

  • You know your way around a CRM, Google Workspace, and branding/website projects.
  • You’re experienced with and knowledgeable about web design and development (hands-on technical expertise is not a requirement).
  • You’re comfortable with project management software (we use Asana).

You Will

Build client relationships.

  • Identify and connect with potential clients, focusing on industries like crisis PR, legal services, and financial services
  • Act as the first point of contact for prospective clients, joining calls and meetings to build relationships and understand client needs
  • Collaborate with internal teams to craft tailored proposals, ensuring client goals align with our services
  • Identify opportunities to develop recurring revenue with our clients
  • Lead the conversation: be knowledgeable about the client’s challenges and opportunities in their industry

Create effective systems.

  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients, ensuring consistent outreach and follow-ups
  • Work closely with leadership to establish sales goals and strategies, providing regular updates on progress
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success
  • Create and manage systems and processes for sales

Go beyond organic lead generation.

  • Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and trends within target industries
  • Engage in marketing tactics such as hosting webinars, writing blog posts, and contributing to thought leadership initiatives
  • Network with industry professionals by attending events, webinars, and relevant associations (e.g., Legal Marketing Association, financial services networks)
  • Represent the agency at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to expand visibility and connections

Collaborate with internal teams.

  • Transition relationships to the account management team post-sale while maintaining a supportive connection
  • Provide feedback and insights to internal teams to improve service offerings and align with client expectations

We Offer

  • $60,000 base salary
  • Unlimited 10% commission on every sale above $600,000 in annual sales
  • We expect this role to generate revenue enough for the expected salary to be $102,000 annually (base + bonus), but the bonus is unlimited (the total compensation is therefore also unlimited)
  • An ongoing profit bonus for all employees (up to 8% annually)
  • Career development tailored to your needs, interests, and goals
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits
  • 401k (which the company matches up to 4%)
