Historical Hops: The South Street Brewing Co.

Proudly introducing Gallus Mag IPA, a happy hour side project of North Street Creative and the first in our series of beers homebrewed under our South Street Brewing Co. label, which celebrates our neighborhood’s storied and often gritty past. Gallus Mag was a legend of the 1870s Seaport. The 6-foot female bouncer worked the door at The Hole in the Wall (today’s Bridge Cafe on Water St), and was infamous for biting the ears off of unruly patrons, which she did with razor-sharp teeth she had shaved into points.
