Team Spotlight: Sarah Love, Senior Designer

By Dahlia Lilleslatten, Communications

Meet Sarah, North Street’s latest addition to the design department! A powerhouse designer based out of California, Sarah brings incredible know-how to the North Street team, working on projects ranging from identity and branding systems to web design and promotional materials. We sat down for an interview (albeit virtually) to get to know her better and highlight a few of the things that make her such a force of nature.

What were you doing before North Street?

Prior to starting at North Street, I was working for The Knot in NYC as the design lead for the B2B department. Before making the big move to California, my husband and I decided to spend a few months in Sweden to visit his friends and family. From that point on I began freelance/remote work for various companies such as Hoag Hospital, ILSA, Notre Dame, and Pacific Communications.

What projects have you been the most excited to work on since you joined NS?

I haven’t been here very long, but there’s been a bunch of fun projects I’ve worked on so far. The most exciting project that comes to mind is a web project I’m currently working on. I love designing websites!

What do you bring to the company?

I bring a keen eye for details, experience in branding and digital design, and an enthusiastic, go-getter personality to the NS team!

How did you come to be working at NS? (The story about how you first met the team…)

It’s a great story! I had just moved to NYC in 2014 and was freelancing at various agencies when I took a temporary position with North Street. This is when I first met Tom and Sean, and we worked in a little start-up office. It was a lot of fun! I was offered a full-time position with White & Case, an international law firm, so the North Street team threw me a little goodbye party at a local bar nearby and we parted ways. I kept in touch with Tom over the years, grabbing a coffee to catch up every now and then. Last summer the NS team reached out about picking up some freelance work and I gladly accepted. When I was offered a full-time position it was an immediate “yes!” and here I am. I’m so happy to be a part of the NS team, it’s been an incredible experience.

Bonus round: how do you start your morning?

Step 1: Snooze… and snooze again.
Step 2: Put my face on before our 7am (PST) team zoom call. 😉
Step 3: Start the coffee machine.
Step 4: Look over my email and project requests for the day.
Step 4: Team meeting!
